Live-in care provides round-the-clock support by placing a dedicated, experienced carer in your loved one’s home. It is widely considered the most person-centred form of care available – and for many families in North and Central London, it is a far preferable alternative to a residential care home.
At Golders Green Nursing, our live-in carers are carefully matched to each client based on personality, experience and the specific care needs involved. Every placement is overseen by a qualified nurse who monitors wellbeing, reviews the care plan regularly, and maintains communication with your GP and any medical specialists.
We use the PASS digital care platform to record all care activity in real time, giving families full visibility and complete peace of mind.
Our live-in care service covers every aspect of daily living:
Live-in care is ideal for people who:
Live-in care typically costs significantly less than a residential care home for equivalent levels of support, while offering far greater personal continuity.
Getting started is straightforward. Our five-step process ensures the right carer is matched to your loved one from day one.
Contact us to discuss your situation. We’ll explain the service, answer your questions, and assess whether live-in care is the right solution. There’s no obligation.
A senior team member visits to assess care needs and meet your loved one. We then carefully match a carer based on experience, skills and personality fit.
We create a detailed care plan covering all needs, routines, medical requirements and preferences. You and your family are involved at every step.
Your live-in carer moves in and care begins, guided by the agreed plan. The PASS platform records all care activity so families can see updates in real time.
Our team proactively monitors all aspects of your loved one’s wellbeing, adapts the care plan as needs change, and provides weekly reports to the family.
A live-in carer lives in your loved one’s home and provides round-the-clock support tailored to their needs. This can include personal care, meal preparation, medication management, companionship, light housekeeping, and accompanying them to appointments. The carer is there throughout the day and night, providing reassurance and help whenever it is needed.
Yes. A live-in carer needs a private room with a bed where they can rest during their off-duty hours. This does not need to be a large room – a comfortable single bedroom is fine. The carer also needs access to bathroom facilities and the ability to prepare their own meals. They are also entitled to 2 hours break away from the home each day.
For many people, live-in care offers significant advantages over a care home. Your loved one stays in their own home, surrounded by familiar belongings and routines. They receive one-to-one attention from a dedicated carer, rather than sharing staff with other residents. Couples can also remain together in their own home, which is rarely possible in a care home setting.
We take carer matching seriously. After the home care assessment, we consider your loved one’s personality, interests, care needs, daily routines and any specific preferences. We then select a carer whose skills, experience and temperament are the best fit. We always introduce the carer before care begins, and if the match is not right, we will find an alternative.
